A Royal Wedding

The Swedish crown princess weds her dear Daniel tomorrow and I'm gonna be a part of the procession after the ceremony in the church. We are about 500 scouts that are going to stand along the road where Victoria and Daniel will pass in a carriage (dragged by horses with horse shoes made of aluminum that is supposed to look as silver) and salute them in the way scouts do best - by doing the scout salute!
I got inspired and made a wedding card with lots of flowers.


Also joining the blog hop and entering my card for the s2g Paper Crafting Contest. The twist was to use something old. I've used green string that is really old. I originally bought it in 1999 when I made a stole with embroideries for my father (he's a priest).

So Lucky to Have You

I was about to do a Around the World card for the Crafty Creations Challenge this week. I wanted it to be Swedish with an image of Pippi Longstocking, but when I started to make the card it got way to messy. So I resigned and made this card with a Lucky Clover instead. The paper is just from a cheap scrapbooking package and the letters are from the latest Creative Club package.
I think I'll make a Swedish card with Pippi and an Around the World card with some African inspiration instead.

Have a Bright Merry Christmas!

This is a christmas card in different colours... I've combined different challenges just to see where it goes... And I think it's kind of funky and cute. It's a bit confusing and I'm not sure if it is my paper with the golden swirls or if it is the striped paper... But I can live with that. What really bothers me is that my Embossing Pen left a blue colour on the stamp after I'd heated the embossing powder with my new heat gun. I have no idea why? Any ideas and tips?

I've used papers from Emma's Garden from Panduro and Mimosa Christmas Angel stamp from Bildmalarna. The bell is from a chocolate bunny I ate this easter!

Cupe Cake Craft Challenges this week has a button-challenge. I'm not sure if my "button" counts. I didn't have any buttons in the right colours except a brad that looks like a button... Not sure if that disqualifies me then?

Roses on Paper Challenge Blog has a colour challenge this week; yellow, pink and orange. And my Mimosa Christmas Angel is bought from Bildmalarna.

S2G's challenge this week is to use a ribbon. I've used two. :)

Sketch and Stash Challenge had a funny sketch this week. Looks like this:

The ABC Challenge this week was U is for Unused Stash. And since I've just started my cardmaking carrier, this was really simple. I haven't used my Mimosa stamp before, or my golden swirly paper.

My second card for the Christian Choir and Music week. This might be a good card for the guesting preacher? The text says "Thanks".

The angel is just a picture from the web and I haven't used any special papers this time. The flowers are mixed from different brands. The light green and the text are from a Swedish scrapbooking club called Creative Club and their May package.
This time I'm actually joining this card for three challenges.

Papertake Weekly has a challenge this week where they want us to make sparkly, shiny and special cards. I've used some glitter glue and green rhinestones so I think that makes it kind of sparkly. And special, yes I think it is special.

Friday Sketchers Blog has a rather funny sketch this week. It took a while before I could imagine my own sketch from the Friday Sketchers sketch, but when I got my idea it fitted perfectly. The sketch looks like this:

Daring Cardmakers always has a challenge in store for me. This time it was to use the month stone for May - Emeralds. So I went to the nearest scrapbooking store straight away after work today and bought green rhinestones. I've used six of them on the card and matched them with the green colours on the papers.

Now I have four days of holiday since it's Ascension Day tomorrow. Hope you get some time for cardmaking and resting too! See ya!

Thank You for the Music

Every summer I attend a christian choir festival in Malung, Dalarna. My mum is one of the organizers and she has asked me to make thank you cards for the choir leader and the musicians. This might be the card for the choir leader? I don't know. I'm gonna make a bunch and let my mum decide.
I was supposed to entry this card for a challenge, since I used the sketch from Roses on Paper but then you have to use some special brands of stamps. And my image is not a stamp at all... It is a mix of my handdrawing and a picture I found on the web.
Anyway, I'll be getting some new Magnolia stamps soon, and then I can make another entry for the RoP Challenge.
I've used paper from Linen Closet Stack and the music paper is from Karen-Marie Klip, a danish company from their Classic Collection - Blue Notes.

Cutest

Another card, another challenge. Or in this case, two challenges! I decided to do a turtle for the Cutie Challenge at Paper Take Weekly. But then I wanted to make the turtle eat the flowers to make her even more cute... And I got inspired by the Daring Cardmakers Challenge where you had to create a card with a flap. :)
So, here we have it! The little paper above the frame with a bow is movable. You just pull it and two more pictures appears in the frame! Look below for details:

Thinking of you!

Time for another card! This week it's the Die Cut Dreams Challenge Blog that has a vintage theme. Time to google again. :) Browsing through the YouTube clips and the different webpages I found a YouTube clip of how to make a Paper Flower! It was from a "Stampin' Up!"-demonstrator. Get inspired you too, here!
So I started to make flowers and I think this one turned out pretty good. I've been really been working with the papers to make them look really old and used. The text is translated "thinking of you". I'm happy with it. I think it looks really classy and beautiful, despite the thorn edges.
I've used the DCVW Linen Closet papers, three different that really match together beautifully. See ya around! Looking forward to the next card already.

A blue silver dream...

So, I don't really know what to think of this card. I'm really afraid of making cards "too much" and honestly I like my cards to be really simple. But the cards in the challenges are always really worked through, and the more I work with my cards, the "more" they get...
Anyway, I'm a bit happy with it even though glitter and such isn't really my cup of tea. This is an entry for the Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club challenge for this week. The theme was blue and silver. A really nice combo and the Design Team cards are beautiful.
I wanted to make a weave with paper so I wove different paper strips together and put the paper mat on the backside of the front of which I had cut a hole. I've stamped the front with light blue, dark blue, silver ink and finished it of with embossing the same pattern. I also coloured and embossed the edges. Not sure how good its shown on the photo. I cut snowflakes (by hand!) from silver paper. Not the easiest thing I've done... Put a silver ribbon at the bottom of the front and then went nuts with flowers, stars and rhinestones on the weave... And then went even more nuts with my newly bought glitter glue. (Yes, I know my budget had been overdrawn long time ago this month but... I couldn't help myself...)
What materials have I used then...? Honestly, this is a real budget card. I got a Christmas Scrapbooking Kit from my mother-in-law last Christmas, no idea from where... I used some papers and decorations from that package. And some stuff from the Clas Ohlson Winter kit... I have used some papers from DCVW Linen Closet...
It was really fun to do at least. Stayed up until after 3 am last night. Finished it off this morning. Just need the glue to dry before I put it in my "Finished cards box". Planning to sell some of the cards in a market festival late this summer. In Dalarna of course!

Greetings from Dalarne

For me, this card is real Swedish summer and especially summer in Dalarna (Dalarne - old way of saying it) where I come from. I've followed the Sketch from the Friday Sketchers Challenge this week. The text to the right says "Greetings from Dalarne" and the picture in the middle is a collage with a Kurbits which is a really old way of painting floral-like patterns on paintings, a skiss of a dress from behind and front, an example of a traditional dress from a village called Rättvik and a real sewing pattern for another dress in the same style. The scribblings are about the bodice of the dress and tells us about the colour and the fabric. It also says "entirely hand sewn". The blue colour is not really typical for the dresses, they are more dark but I like that blue colour, it reminds me of the sky a warm summer day.
I've used paper from DCWV Citrus Matstack and apricot card stock.
